Where's the love?

Doesn't it seem as of late the scene has gotten a bit to serious? Maybe it's just me but all of sudden everybody has some kind of beef going on about something. Whether it's judging at a show or just a dumb argument on a forum. I sit and watch everything going on and start to remember the scene a few years back when Waterfest was just starting out and was no more than what a regular gtg would be today. Yes, I am showing my age but those were some rather fun times.

There was no internet to find out where the latest show was happening. You would have to wait until a magazine would put information about a show or get together. When you finally make it to the event, it was like a big family reunion. Everyone was there to have fun, share information and check out each others cars. There was no rivalries, it was just a friendly show. No complaints about trophies or a my car was better than his car argument.

I know times change and the scene has gotten huge in comparison to those times and the internet had a big part in that. but the bickering just has to end or you will ruin a good thing. It's the e-thugs that have the most to say always starting trouble on forums and making stories up about certain parties. We (Coolwater) have been a subject of this type of e-bashing.

Spreading rumors that we go around talking trash about other clubs in order to take there members, or that we are a bunch of drunks that are looking to start trouble. Our personal favorite is the one that anytime theres a fight or argument at a show, we are the ones involved. We have never been in a fight or a argument at a show or a get together and as for stealing members and thrashing talking other clubs, well lets just say that we don't need to stoop to those levels to get our numbers up.

This is supposed to be fun and we will continue to do our best to have a great time no matter what. Lighten up folks life is to short to be bickering about absolute nonsense. I know I will continue to have a great time and by all means if you want to come join us you are welcome to do so. That's all for now folks. Just thought I'd get that off my chest.
